By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Who we are

- Email: hello@nime.com.au
- Website: nime.com.au
- Instagram: @filmedbynime
If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us using the details above.
2. What information we collect
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services and run our business. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
Information you give us directly:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and business name.
- The contents of any message, enquiry, or brief you send us (including details about your project).
- Information you provide when subscribing to our email newsletter.
Payment information:
- When you pay a deposit or invoice, payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. Your card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure systems — nime does not collect, see, or store your full card details. We may receive limited confirmation information such as your name, email, and the amount paid.
Information collected automatically:
- When you visit our website, we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that collect information like your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, time on site, and referring website. This is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
Photographic and video material:
- As a videography business, we capture photographs and video footage that may include identifiable individuals. See Section 7 below, which deals specifically with this.
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiries and provide quotes.
- Plan, deliver, and follow up on videography and editing services.
- Process deposits and payments (via Stripe).
- Send you our newsletter or updates, only if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Improve our website and understand how visitors use it.
- Meet our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.
We will not use your information for purposes unrelated to those above without your consent.
4. The newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you updates, offers, and content from nime. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We will not add you to our newsletter without your consent.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including through Google Analytics, to help the site function and to measure how it is used. Cookies are small files stored on your device.
You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do. Where required, we will seek your consent for non-essential cookies via a notice on the site.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary to run our business, including with:
- Stripe — to process payments securely.
- Google Analytics — for website analytics.
- Email and newsletter providers — to send communications you've subscribed to.
- Hosting and website providers — to operate the site.
- Professional advisers or authorities — where required by law (e.g. tax, accounting, or legal obligations).
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in line with this policy and applicable privacy laws.
7. Photography and video of identifiable people
Because nime produces video and photographic content, our work often captures identifiable individuals — clients, their staff, customers, event attendees, or members of the public.
- Client shoots: Before or at the time of a booking, we agree with the client on how footage will be captured and used. Where individuals are clearly featured, we may ask for a model/location release confirming consent to be filmed and for the footage to be used.
- Use in our portfolio and marketing: We may wish to use footage or stills from completed projects in our showreel, website, social media (@filmedbynime), and other promotional material. We will only do this where we have the appropriate permission from the client and, where relevant, the individuals featured. This is typically set out in our service agreement.
- If you appear in our footage and have concerns: If you believe you have been captured in nime's footage and do not consent to its use, contact us using the details in Section 1 and we will discuss your request, including reasonable steps to remove or stop using identifiable material where appropriate.
We treat raw footage and project files as confidential and store them securely (see Section 8).
8. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information and project files from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. This includes secure storage of footage on protected drives and backups, and using reputable third-party providers (such as Stripe) for sensitive processes like payments.
We keep personal information and footage only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, our business and legal obligations, or as agreed with the client. Project footage may be archived for a limited period after delivery and then deleted, unless otherwise agreed.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and while we take care to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.
- Make a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your personal information.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in Section 1. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10. Third-party links
Our website and content may link to third-party sites (such as Vimeo, Instagram, or Stripe). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Children's privacy
Our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where we film minors as part of a client project, we rely on the consent of a parent or guardian, arranged through the client.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected here.
